Description

We are seeking a compassionate and patient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils with special educational needs by supporting their learning, wellbeing, and personal development. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs

Assist with the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)

Adapt learning activities to suit individual abilities and needs

Support pupils’ social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour

Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and outside professionals

Contribute to the development of a nurturing, inclusive learning environment

Provide supervision during break/lunchtime and help with personal care if required

Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:

Experience supporting children with SEND in a school or similar setting

A calm, empathetic, and flexible approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills as a SEN Teaching Assistant.

The ability to build trust and positive relationships with children

Understanding of a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language difficulties

A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 TA, CACHE, or SEN-specific training) is desirable
