Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and making a real difference in their school journey?

GSL Education are seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a welcoming SEN school in Plymouth. This full-time role begins in September 2025, offering a chance to work 1:1 with pupils who have Autism and behavioural needs. About the Role

This fulfilling position involves working 1:1 with three different children across the school day, providing tailored support to help them thrive both academically and emotionally.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), your responsibilities will include:

Individualised Support: Work closely with pupils to implement strategies that support their learning and behaviour

Autism-Focused Approach: Use your experience to create a calm, structured, and supportive environment

Collaborative Practice: Partner with class teachers and SENCO to adapt learning activities and monitor progress

Positive Relationships: Build trust and consistency with pupils to encourage engagement and confidence

Ongoing Development: Access training and professional growth opportunities through GSL Education

Experienced with Autism: You’ve supported children with Autism and understand their unique needs

Patient and Understanding: You approach challenges with empathy, consistency, and a calm mindset
