Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

Location: Ashington

Salary: £84 - £110 per day (Depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Daily Supply, Long-term

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a supportive and inclusive school environment in Ashington. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact on the academic and personal development of pupils with additional needs.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs (SEN).

Assist the class teacher in delivering structured, inclusive learning activities.

Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.

Encourage the development of pupils’ confidence, independence, and communication skills.

Support pupils during classroom activities, break times, and transitions.

Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment in line with safeguarding policies.

Requirements:

Experience working with children with SEN (e.g., autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties).

A calm, nurturing, and flexible approach to supporting individual needs.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality in an educational setting.

A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential.

Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable.

Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
