Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Pay: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm

Location: Darwen

Provision: Alternative provision

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive educational environment. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting children’s learning and overall wellbeing, ensuring every child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a safe and caring setting.

Your responsibilities will include providing tailored support to individual children, which may involve care needs and positive behaviour management. You will establish warm and trusting relationships with pupils, promoting their sense of safety, enjoyment, independence, and personal development, while maintaining high expectations of behaviour at all times.

Key Duties

Participate in the planning and evaluation of learning activities.

Provide meaningful feedback on pupil attainment and progress.

Support the teacher with monitoring, assessing, recording, and reporting pupils’ progress in line with school policies.

Encourage positive behaviour and concentration, adapting your responses as necessary to manage behavioural changes or escalations.

Promote spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development, alongside British values, within the PSHE framework.

Support pupils’ cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development, and spiritual wellbeing through a whole-day curriculum.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
