Location: Bury, Greater Manchester

Pay Rate: £92.59 - £110.24 per day

Contract: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (8:30am - 3:30pm)

Start Date: September 2026

Duration: Full Academic Year

SEN Teaching Assistant Required - Bury

Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs? Do you have experience working with children or young adults who require additional support? We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Secondary SEN School in the Bury area from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of students with a range of complex learning needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a supportive and nurturing educational environment.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support students aged 11-16 with a variety of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)

Work closely with class teachers and the wider support team to deliver engaging learning activities

Provide 1:1 and small group support both inside and outside the classroom

Help students develop their academic, social and emotional skills

Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence

Support students with personal and pastoral needs when required

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for candidates who:

Have previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting

Are patient, empathetic and adaptable

Have strong communication and interpersonal skills

Are passionate about supporting students with additional needs

Can build positive relationships with students, staff and parents

Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience (desirable but not essential) xjnqpsq
