Location: Bolton, Greater Manchester

Pay Rate: £92.59 - £110.24 per day

Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (8:30am - 3:30pm)

Start Date: September 2026

Contract Length: Full Academic Year

Learning Support Assistant Needed for Specialist SEN School in Bolton

Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can help young people achieve their potential? We are recruiting a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work within a thriving Secondary SEN School in Bolton from September 2026.

This long-term opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy supporting young people and want to play a key role in helping students develop academically, socially and emotionally. The school caters for pupils with a range of additional needs and prides itself on providing a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

Support students aged 11-16 with a variety of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Assist pupils in accessing lessons and engaging with classroom activities

Deliver targeted interventions and learning support programmes

Promote student confidence, independence and self-esteem

Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies

Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and support staff

Contribute to the overall wellbeing and progress of students

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

Experience working with children or young people in education, care, youth work or support settings

A positive, patient and flexible approach

The ability to build strong relationships and act as a positive role model

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs

Knowledge of SEN, autism, SEMH or ADHD (beneficial but not essential)
