Job Title: SEN Teacher

Location: Leicester

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Contract: Full-time

About the Role

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to work within a specialist setting supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator who may not hold full Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) but has significant experience leading and planning lessons within SEN settings.

You will play a key role in delivering engaging, structured lessons that support pupils with diverse learning needs, helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally within a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver tailored lessons to pupils with SEN

Lead small classes or groups, adapting teaching strategies to suit individual learning styles

Implement effective behaviour management strategies to support engagement and learning

Monitor and track pupil progress, adapting lesson plans where necessary

Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and wider support staff

Contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalised learning strategies

Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Extensive experience planning and leading lessons within SEN settings

A strong understanding of strategies that support pupils with additional needs

Excellent classroom management and communication skills

The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and support their individual development

A flexible, patient, and nurturing approach to teaching and learning

A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs

Qualifications

QTS or a formal teaching qualification is desirable but not essential

Relevant experience within SEN schools, specialist provisions, or alternative education settings is essential
