SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) - Mainstream Primary School

Location: Birmingham

Position: Full-Time, Term Time Only

Start Date: September 2026 (or ASAP)

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming mainstream primary school in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by supporting children with a range of additional needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN.

Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised learning.

Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development.

Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.

Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

Has experience working with children with SEN (desirable but not essential).

Is patient, compassionate, and resilient.

Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or is willing to undertake training.
