We are currently recruiting enthusiastic, resilient and compassionate Teaching Assistants to work across a range of specialist and mainstream educational settings supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The Role

As an SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils, helping them overcome barriers to learning and develop both academically and personally.

Your responsibilities may include:

Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small-group basis

Providing targeted support for pupils with SEN and SEMH needs

Helping pupils to manage their emotions and behaviour positively

Building trusting, supportive relationships with children and young people

Supporting learning and engagement in the classroom

Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams

Helping to create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment

Supporting pupils with challenging or complex needs where appropriate

What We're Looking For

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN and/or SEMH needs

Experience working in a school, specialist provision, residential setting, youth work or similar environment

A calm, patient and consistent approach

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The ability to build positive relationships with pupils

Resilience and confidence when supporting challenging behaviour

A genuine passion for helping young people succeed

Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential where you have strong practical experience.
