The Role

As a SEN Learning Mentor & Inclusion Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group SEN support

Support pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties, and complex learning needs

Manage challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies

Build positive and trusting relationships with students

Support emotional regulation and social development

Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs

Encourage independence, engagement, and participation in lessons

Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and SENCOs

Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff

Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

What We're Looking For

Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, SEMH, or additional needs

Backgrounds in education, youth work, care, support work, sports coaching, psychology, or mentoring are highly desirable

Strong behaviour management and communication skills

A patient, resilient, and proactive approach

Passion for inclusive education and pupil development

Ability to build strong professional relationships

Team Teach training is desirable but not essential

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
