ABC Teachers is looking for skilled SEN Classroom Support to join a specialist SEN School in Birmingham on a full–time basis.

About the role:

Develop strong, professional relationships with the pupils to understand their range of complex needs and how best to assist them in school.Ability to work confidently with students with a range of Social, Emotional or Mental Health (SEMH) needs from years 7 to 9.Prepare the classroom for learning and assist the class teacher with the delivery of planned lessons. Assess and monitor student s progress, using assessments from their home schools and robust baseline diagnosis, aiming to reduce the impact of their medical conditions on their educational outcomes.Work with both small groups and 1:1 with students when required.Encourage student participation and performance.Full time position available for an immediate start, with potential for ongoing work for the right candidate. The school supports people in years 7–9 who haven t been able to access mainstream education for reasons relating to their SEMH needs.Has smaller class sizes, allowing for learning to be tailored based on individual pupils abilities, interests and needs.Offers a broad and balanced curriculum, differentiated and personalised to the needs of the pupils, with all lessons being taught be subject specialists.Staff morale, training and development are paramount, empowering their community to overcome barriers and achieve dreams.The school is based in Birmingham and easily accessible from Coventry, Worcester, and surrounding areas. About you:

To be considered for the skilled SEN Classroom Support position, you will:

Have previous experience working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, autism, and sensory needs. Suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential. Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check. All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
