Description

Job Title: SEN Class Teacher

Location: Benton House School, Benton, NE7 7XE

Hours: 37.5 per week Monday to Friday

Salary: GBP39,000.00 per annum (not pro rata)

Contract: Permanent Term Time Only

Start: May 2026 &September 2026 (2 roles)

Benton House School are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Teacher to join their friendly and supportive team. You will help create a safe, positive and nurturing classroom where pupils feel confident, valued and inspired to learn. Key Responsibilities

Deliver creative and personalised teaching for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)Adapt the curriculum and lessons to meet individual learning needs and abilitiesCreate a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environmentBuild positive relationships that support pupils' academic, social and emotional developmentWork collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to support pupil progressContribute to safeguarding practices and the wider school communityWhat We're Looking For

Experience working with pupils in SEN settings or a strong interest in SEN educationA calm, patient and resilient approach to teachingCreativity and flexibility in lesson deliveryStrong communication and teamwork skillsA commitment to supporting every pupil to reach their potentialWillingness to visit the school during the interview process to meet the team and pupilsQualifications

Benton House School is a brand-new SEN school for pupils with complex needs including SEMH. It is an exciting addition to the Acorn portfolio based in Newcastle.

Benton House School will have capacity for 60 pupils ages 5-14 years old.
