Do you have the resilience, empathy and energy to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? This specialist SEMH school in the Manchester area supports children and young people who may experience challenging behaviour, trauma, anxiety, ADHD, attachment difficulties and emotional dysregulation. Every day is different – but every day is meaningful.

Teaching Personnel is looking for a dynamic SEMH Teaching Assistant who thrives on building relationships, creating calm in the chaos and helping pupils feel safe, understood and supported.

Your Role Will Include:

Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups with SEMH needs

Helping young people to regulate emotions, manage behaviour and develop positive coping strategies

Working closely with teachers, therapists and SENCOs to deliver individual support plans

Creating a consistent, trauma-informed and nurturing environment

Supporting learning both in and out of the classroom

Being a positive role model – calm, patient and reliable in all situations

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

Has experience working with SEMH, SEND, behaviour support, youth work or care settings

Is resilient, confident and able to de-escalate challenging situations

Can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils

Is passionate about inclusion, wellbeing and pupil progress

Holds (or is willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS on the update service

Has a genuine desire to make a long-term impact
