We're working with a forward-thinking secondary school in Bedford that's looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team. SEMH Teaching Assistant - Ideal for Psychology & Criminology Graduates

Location: Bedford

Full-Time | Term Time Only

Hours: 08:30 - 15:30

Sector: Education and training

Pay: £90 - £100 per day | Long-term to Permanent Opportunity

Are you a psychology or criminology graduate with a passion for supporting young people facing emotional and behavioural challenges as an SEMH Teaching Assistant?

Would you thrive in a dynamic school environment as a SEMH Teaching Assistant where no two days are the same, and your work can genuinely change lives in Bedford?

About the Role:

Support students aged 11-16 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs

Work closely with the SENCO, pastoral team, and external agencies to provide tailored support

Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions, promoting emotional regulation, self-esteem, and resilience

Be a positive role model, helping students re-engage with education in a safe, structured environment

Who We're Looking For:

A recent psychology or criminology graduate (2:1 or above preferred)

Passionate about making a real impact on the lives of vulnerable young people

Calm, empathetic, and able to build trusting relationships

The ability to commute to Bedford.

Previous experience with young people or vulnerable groups (voluntary or paid) is a bonus, but not essential
