Aspire People is recruiting on behalf of one of our trusted partner SEND schools in Boston for compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistants to join their dedicated team this September.

This is an excellent opportunity to support children and young people aged 5–17 with a range of additional needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, autism, attachment difficulties, childhood trauma, and complex learning needs.

If you're passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers and the wider support team to provide both classroom and 1:1 support. Every day is different, and you'll play a key role in creating a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment where pupils feel supported to succeed both academically and emotionally.

This is a full–time, long–term position with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract for the right candidate.

We Would Love to Hear From You If You Have Experience In:

SEMH or SEND settings

Schools, colleges, or alternative provisions

Residential care or children's homes

Youth work or mentoring

Behaviour support or mental health settings

Psychology graduates looking to gain valuable school–based experience before pursuing careers in educational psychology, teaching, counselling, or mental health are encouraged to apply.

We also welcome applications from candidates with transferable skills who are looking to start a rewarding career in education. If you're caring, patient, resilient, and committed to making a difference, we encourage you to apply.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

Be calm, patient, and confident managing challenging behaviour in a positive way.

Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.

Be flexible, proactive, and a strong team player.

Have excellent communication skills.

Be available to work Monday to Friday, term time only.
