Tradewind Recruitment are proud to be working with a successful and inclusive secondary school in South Manchester, who are looking to appoint a dedicated Science Technician to support their vibrant science department.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a science graduate looking to develop hands-on experience in an educational environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing materials for lessons, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the smooth operation of practical science activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparing and setting up equipment and resources for science experiments

Supporting teachers and students during practical lessons

Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring cleanliness and safety

Managing stock levels and ordering materials when required

Ensuring compliance with all health and safety standards, including COSHH regulations

Providing general support to the science department as needed

Requirements:

A science-related degree is essential - applicants without a science degree will not be considered

Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills

A team player with a professional and proactive approach

Previous experience in a lab or school setting is desirable but not essential

A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

This position is to start as soon as possible, with a daily rate of £100 to £110, depending on experience and qualifications.
