Description

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well–regarded secondary school in the Camden area for a Science Technician to join their dynamic science department on a part–time basis (3 days per week). This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled technician or a science graduate looking to gain school–based experience in a supportive and forward–thinking environment.

Position Details:

Job Title: Science Technician

Location: Camden, London

Start Date: Mid–November 2025

Working Days: 3 days per week (specific days negotiable)

Contract Type: Ongoing (with potential for extension)

Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities:

Preparing, setting up, and distributing equipment and materials for science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics Supporting teaching staff with practical lessons and demonstrations Ensuring laboratories and prep rooms are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and safety Managing stock levels and placing orders for equipment and chemicals when required Assisting with the safe disposal of waste materials and adherence to health & safety regulations (COSHH, CLEAPSS guidelines) Maintenance and calibration of scientific apparatus Supporting students and staff during practical activities where appropriate

Candidate Requirements:

Previous experience working as a Science Technician in a school or laboratory environment Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures related to science equipment and chemicals A science–related qualification (A–levels or degree) is advantageous Good organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to undergo a DBS check
