Job Title: Science Graduate Teaching Assistant

Location: Tower Hamlets, East London

Salary: £90-£110 per day (dependent on experience)

Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only

Start Date: ASAP / September 2026

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Science Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Tower Hamlets. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring Science teacher looking to gain valuable, hands-on experience in a school setting before pursuing teacher training.

As a Science Graduate TA, you will work closely with the Science department to support teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential exposure to Key Stage 5. You will assist in delivering engaging lessons, provide targeted support to students, and help foster a positive and stimulating learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Support Science teachers in delivering high-quality lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics

Work with small groups or on a one-to-one basis to support student progress

Assist with practical experiments and preparation of materials

Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment

Provide additional support to students with varying abilities, including SEN

Contribute to lesson planning and resource development

Ideal Candidate:

A recent graduate with a degree in a Science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or similar)

Strong academic background and subject knowledge

Passionate about education and pursuing a career in teaching

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Proactive, reliable, and adaptable

Previous experience working with young people (desirable xjnqpsq but not essential)
