Job Title: School Welfare Officer (First Aid at Work Qualified)

Start Date: Immediate Start Available

Contract Type: Full-time / Term-time (plus INSET days)

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Welfare Officer to join our team. This is a vital role supporting the health, safety, and wellbeing of our students on a daily basis. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring a safe and supportive environment where students can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide first aid care and medical support to students and staff

Manage the school’s medical room and maintain accurate medical records

Respond promptly to accidents, injuries, and medical emergencies

Liaise with parents/carers regarding student health concerns

Support students with ongoing medical conditions and care plans

Ensure compliance with health and safety and safeguarding policies

Maintain first aid supplies and equipment

Work closely with pastoral and safeguarding teams to support student wellbeing

Essential Requirements:

Valid First Aid at Work qualification (must be current)

Experience working with children or young people (preferably in a school setting)

Strong organisational and communication skills

Calm, professional manner in emergency situations

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle xjnqpsq sensitive information appropriately

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Desirable:

Previous experience in a school welfare or healthcare role

Knowledge of safeguarding procedures in education

Experience supporting students with medical needs or SEND
