About the Role
Teach Now is seeking a calm and reliable School Nurse or First Aider to join a well-regarded co-educational secondary school in Hertfordshire.
You will provide day-to-day medical and first aid support for pupils aged 11–18, assessing minor injuries and illnesses, responding to emergencies and escalating concerns appropriately. You will also support pupils with ongoing medical needs, working closely with pastoral staff, families and other professionals where required.
Accurate record-keeping and a well-organised medical room are essential. You will document incidents confidentially, maintain supplies and follow school procedures around medication, safeguarding and health and safety.
This role could suit either a qualified school nurse or an experienced first aider. A three-day first aid qualification is preferred, although applicants with Level 1 first aid training may be considered for suitable duties.

Assess minor injuries and illnesses and provide care within your training.
Respond to emergencies and escalate concerns when required.
Support pupils with medical needs in line with individual care plans.
Contact parents or carers where appropriate.
Maintain accurate, confidential medical and incident records.
Keep the medical room organised, clean and appropriately stocked.
Requirements
A current first aid qualification appropriate to the duties authorised by the school.
Relevant experience supporting children or young people with health or wellbeing needs.
Ability to recognise when further medical support is required.
Good understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and record-keeping.
Willingness to follow school procedures regarding medication, health and safety.
The right to work in the UK and willingness to complete an enhanced DBS and other safeguarding checks.
