School Hairdresser - SEMH Interventions

Location: Tower Hamlets

Contract: Full-time / Term-time only

Are you a skilled hairdresser with a passion for supporting young people?

We are looking for a School Hairdresser to join a SEMH school, delivering bespoke interventions for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a unique opportunity to use your hairdressing skills to build trust, boost confidence, and create a safe space for students who need additional support with behaviour and engagement.

What you'll do:

Provide hair cutting and basic grooming sessions in a safe, structured environment

Use 1:1 and small group sessions as an intervention to support behaviour and emotional regulation

Build strong relationships to promote confidence, self-esteem, and positive choices

Support students with behaviour, helping them re-engage with learning

Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to monitor progress

Act as a positive role model within the schoolWhat we're looking for:

Qualified hairdresser (Level 2/3 or equivalent)

Experience working with young people or transferable skills (youth work, mentoring, etc.)

Confident managing behaviour and building rapport

Patient, calm, and resilient approach

Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)What xjnqpsq we offer:
