A welcoming and well–established secondary school in Barking & Dagenham is looking for a reliable and hardworking School Caretaker to join their premises team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced caretaker, facilities assistant or someone with strong practical skills who is looking for flexible shift work within a school environment.

The Role

As a School Caretaker, you will help ensure the school site is safe, secure, clean and well maintained. Duties will include:

Opening and securing the school premisesCarrying out general maintenance and minor repairsSupporting the smooth running of the school siteCompleting routine health and safety checksAssisting with deliveries and contractorsMaintaining outdoor areas and communal spacesReporting any maintenance or security issuesResponding to day–to–day site requirementsEnsuring the school provides a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

Reliable, punctual and hardworkingPractical and confident carrying out basic maintenanceAble to work independently and as part of a teamFlexible and willing to work different shiftsFriendly and professional when dealing with staff, students and visitorsExperienced in a caretaker, facilities, maintenance or similar rolePrevious experience working within a school is desirable but not essential.
