School Caretaker

Full-time | 5 days per week

Secondary Schools across the London Borough of Merton

We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and hardworking School Caretaker to join a network of welcoming and inclusive secondary schools in Merton. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining safe, clean, and well-run environments where students and staff can thrive.

Our schools are known for being supportive, inclusive, and community-focused, with a strong commitment to staff development and clear opportunities for progression.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensuring the security and safety of school premises

Carrying out routine maintenance, minor repairs, and health & safety checks

Overseeing cleaning standards and site presentation

Opening and closing the school buildings as required

Supporting with setting up rooms for school activities and events

Liaising with contractors and reporting maintenance issues promptly

Ensuring compliance with safeguarding and health & safety policies

The Ideal Candidate:

Has previous caretaking, site management, or facilities experience (school experience desirable but not essential)

Is practical, hands-on, and able to work independently

Has good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude

Is reliable, flexible, and takes pride in their work

Is committed to supporting an inclusive xjnqpsq school environment
