Salary: Pay to scale from day 1 (£172.80 - £262.56)

We are looking for a passionate and adaptable Religious Studies Teacher to take on a maternity cover for a local secondary school in Darlington from September through to July 2027. Whether you're an experienced teacher seeking flexibility through Teaching Personnel or an ECT beginning your career, this is a fantastic opportunity to build your classroom experience across a variety of school settings.

The Role

Deliver engaging religious studies lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 opportunities may be available)

Follow lesson plans and maintain a positive learning environment

Adapt quickly to different school settings

Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and promote a positive learning environment

Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment

Mark work where required and provide feedback

Who We’re Looking For

Qualified religious education teacher (QTS or working towards)

ECTs/NQTs are very welcome

Confident classroom presence and strong subject knowledge

Reliable, flexible, and professional

Strong communication and organisational skills

An up to date DBS or the willingness to get one

Satisfactory background screening
