Position: Daily Supply Primary Teacher (Ad Hoc)

Location: Eastbourne

Hours: 08:30 – 15:30

Pay Rate: £19.20 – £22.30 per hour

Contract Type: Ad Hoc / Day-to-Day Supply

Supply Desk is a nationwide education recruitment agency specialising in Primary, SEND, and Secondary education. We work with a wide network of schools across Brighton & Hove, East Sussex, and West Sussex, providing both day-to-day supply and long-term staffing solutions.

We are currently looking for reliable and adaptable Primary Teachers to provide ad hoc daily supply cover in schools across Eastbourne. This flexible role allows you to choose the year groups you are comfortable teaching, including EYFS, KS1, and KS2.

About the Role

This opportunity is well suited to both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who enjoy variety and value the flexibility to manage their own schedule. You will gain experience working in different schools while maintaining a strong work-life balance.

While the role is primarily day-to-day supply, there may also be opportunities for longer-term placements.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging lessons across your chosen primary year groups (EYFS, KS1, KS2).

Adapt quickly to new classroom environments and follow each school’s policies and procedures.

Differentiate lessons to support pupils with varying learning needs.

Maintain effective classroom management and positive behaviour strategies.

Provide marking and feedback where required to support pupil progress.

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Recent experience teaching in a UK primary school.

Good knowledge of the primary curriculum across EYFS, KS1, or KS2.

A flexible, reliable, and proactive approach to teaching.

An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
