Salary: £16 – £18 per hour

Job Type: Full Time, Temporary (Term Time Only)

Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

About the Role

Teach Now is working with a creative and welcoming one-form entry Church of England primary school in the heart of Camden to recruit a Play Worker to support during lunchtime.

This role focuses on supporting children during unstructured play, helping to create a safe, inclusive and engaging playground environment. The school follows an OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) approach, placing strong emphasis on the importance of play in children’s social, emotional, and physical development.

You will play a key role in encouraging positive interactions, inclusive play, and strong behaviour, ensuring every child feels supported, engaged, and part of the school community.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils during lunchtime play in an OPAL environment

• Facilitate engaging, creative, and inclusive play activities

• Encourage positive social interaction and relationship-building

• Promote safe play and maintain a calm, structured environment

• Manage minor conflicts and reinforce positive behaviour

• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams

About You

• Experience working with children (school, nursery, youth work or similar) – essential

• Confident managing groups of children, particularly in outdoor settings

• Calm, patient, and approachable with a positive attitude

• Strong understanding of the importance of play in child development

• Able to build rapport while maintaining clear boundaries

• A team player who contributes to a supportive school environment
