Specialist School, Stockport

Full-Time Monday-Friday 8.30-16.30 | Immediate Start Available

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting for a PE Teacher to join a happy and nurturing specialist school in Stockport, supporting pupils with a range of additional and complex needs.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and seeking a rewarding opportunity within a specialist educational setting. The school supports pupils with a range of needs, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, speech, language and communication difficulties, as well as behavioural needs. The successful candidate will be resilient, patient and compassionate, with the ability to build strong, positive relationships and provide consistent support to help pupils thrive.

The Role

Planning and preparing lessons, with responsibility for subject development and oversight.

Teaching pupils according to their individual educational needs, including setting and marking work.

Assessing, recording and reporting on pupils' progress, development and attainment.

Promoting the progress, wellbeing and personal development of pupils.

Providing guidance on educational, social and career matters, with appropriate record-keeping.

Communicating and working collaboratively with parents and carers.

Liaising with external professionals and organisations where appropriate.

Participating in relevant meetings and discussions.About the School

Teaching Degree or equivalent.

Qualified teacher status (or working towards).

Minimum of 2 years teaching experience delivering the PE National Curriculum.

Must be able to teach PE at KS3 and KS4.

Will have teaching experience including working with children who have ASC, whether in a mainstream or special needs setting.

Commitment to meeting the Teachers' Standards and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.

Knowledge and understanding of legislation with regards to the SEND Code of Practice.

An understanding of assessment procedures including the use of APP.

A willingness to participate and implement the School Behaviour Policy including possible positive handling of pupils.

Full understanding of child protection and safeguarding and willingness to update training.

Proven ability that you are an outstanding teacher with a lively and effective classroom teaching style, which engages and motivates young people.

A willingness to undertake a responsibility to support the wider curriculum alongside your teaching role.

Full UK driving licence and access to a car desirable, but not essential.Safeguarding & Compliance

Complete an enhanced DBS check registered to the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one).

Provide two professional references covering the last two years.
