Secondary School - Pastoral Lead
Monday - Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Pay: £100-£130 per day (depending on experience)

We are working with a well-regarded Secondary School in Colchester that is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pastoral Lead to join their pastoral and safeguarding team. This Colchester school is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every student feels supported both academically and emotionally.The school has continued to invest heavily in its pastoral, behaviour, and SEN support services, expanding intervention programmes and wellbeing support to ensure students receive the guidance and structure they need to succeed throughout their secondary education.
Job Overview:
* This school caters for students aged 11-16.
* Full-time, Monday - Friday, Pastoral Lead role.
* Provide pastoral, behavioural, and emotional support to students across KS3-KS4.
* Support students experiencing behavioural challenges, low attendance, anxiety, or emotional regulation difficulties.
* Work closely with safeguarding, SEN, attendance, and senior leadership teams to support student wellbeing and progress.
* Build strong and positive relationships with vulnerable students and their families.
* Lead targeted intervention sessions and support behaviour management strategies.
* Promote positive behaviour, attendance, emotional resilience, and engagement within school life.
* Monitor, record, and report safeguarding and wellbeing concerns in line with school procedures.
* Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies where appropriate.
* Contribute to creating a calm, safe, and supportive school environment.
What we're looking for:
* Previous experience working with young people, pastoral care, behaviour support, SEN, or safeguarding is desirable.
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
* Passion for supporting young people's wellbeing, behaviour, and development.
* Good behaviour management and organisational skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals.
