Description

Paint and Decorator Tutor – SEND Provision

Are you an experienced Paint and Decorator passionate about teaching practical skills to young people with SEND? We are looking for a dedicated Paint and Decorator Tutor to join a specialist SEMH provision, delivering hands-on vocational training to students with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, practical paint and decorating sessions tailored to the individual needs of SEND learners. Your role is vital in helping students develop not only technical skills but also confidence, resilience, and employability.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver practical paint and decorating lessons, adapting to meet diverse SEND needs

*

Use a calm, patient, and positive approach to support students with SEMH challenges

*

Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

*

Help students build vocational skills alongside personal development, including teamwork and communication

*

Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods accordingly

*

Collaborate closely with support staff and professionals to provide holistic student support

Requirements:

*

Proven experience in painting and decorating, either in industry or teaching

*

Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, or in specialist education settings is highly desirable

*

Strong behaviour management skills with xjnqpsq a trauma-informed, empathetic approach

*

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

*

A genuine commitment to supporting young people to overcome barriers and succeed
