Description
The role is for a Nursery Practitioner with a minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education, working term-time only, across 38 weeks per year (Part-time) The salary is based on minimum wage, currently set at £12.71 per hour.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic early years education team and play a key role in supporting the care and development of young children. The primary responsibility is to create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can learn, explore, and grow. This includes planning and delivering engaging activities that promote early childhood development, curiosity, and creativity.
In addition to working directly with children, the Nursery Practitioner is expected to demonstrate strong organisational, management, and leadership skills. They will contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the setting, supporting both children and colleagues. The role also requires close adherence to safeguarding standards and ensuring all practices align with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, particularly in line with the updated September 2025 guidelines.

Responsibilities
Plan, organise, and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote children's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development
Supervise children during playtime, meals, and rest periods to ensure their safety at all times
Support children's individual needs through personalised care plans and developmental assessments
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities in accordance with nursery policies
Foster effective communication with parents and carers regarding their child's development and daily experiences
Lead by example in promoting good behaviour, manners, and social skills among children
Assist in the organisation of nursery routines and special events to enrich the children's learning environment
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the nursery and uphold high standards xjnqpsq of childcare
Manage small groups of children, demonstrating leadership within the team to ensure consistent quality care
Requirements
Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood setting
Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations
Childcare qualifications such as Level 3 in Childcare Early Years Educator and above are preferred
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative independently
Passion for working with children and supporting their developmental milestones
Organised, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and care
