JOB DESCRIPTION FOR THE MANAGER
TITLE: Nursery School Manager
ACCOUNTABILITY: The post holder will be responsible to the owners of the Nursery.
RESPONSIBILITY: The manager will be responsible for the management of all the staff in the setting when necessary.
LOCATIONS: Little Learners In The Park, Durnsford Recreation Ground, SW19.
Little Learners In The Gardens, Southfields, SW18.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
To deliver and ensure a high standard of learning, development and care for children aged 2–5 years.
All aplicants must hold a LEVEL 3 qualification in childcare and have at least three years management experience.
To manage the day to day activities of the setting.
To ensure that the nursery is a safe environment for children, staff and others.
To develop partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child development.
To manage other staff within the nursery.
To be responsible for any tasks delegated by the owners.
MAIN DUTIES:
Take overall responsibility for all aspects of the operation of the nursery school, including the management and deployment of staff and the safety, security, education and wellbeing of all children in line with the written policies of Little Learners Nursery School, Ofsted registration requirements and all statutory legislation. To ensure that the nursery is a safe environment for the children, staff and others. To ensure that the nursery meets Ofsted requirements at all times. Take responsibility for ensuring policies and procedures are in place to meet the welfare requirements of the EYFS statutory framework. Contribute towards the planning of appropriate experiences for children in line with the learning and development requirements of the EYFS statutory framework. Oversee the organisation and implementation of the nursery key persons system. Monitor the implementation of Little Learners Nursery policy on planning, assessment, recording and reporting in line with the requirement of the EYFS statutory framework. To have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes. To produce the nursery registers on a regular basis. Plan and produce a curriculum plan with other members of the team, which ensures each child is working towards its learning goals. To organise and participate in the key worker system. To conduct staff appraisals and supervisions with the owners as appropriate and to identify staff training needs. Supply and submit the headcount funding. Manage the use of the space within the building and outdoors to ensure all children have access to appropriate range of opportunities and experiences. Manage communication with parents, addressing any concerns, informing them of their children s progress and encouraging them to become involved in their children s learning. Good understanding of marketing and managing the occupancy within the nursery. To continually strive for the best practice in yourself and inspire others. Take responsibility for all matters relating to special educational needs and child protection, in line with the policies of Little Learners Nursery Schools. Liaise with the owners on a regular basis, informing them of any complaints, concerns or issues that may arise regarding the nursery. Take responsibility for the security of the building. The manager will be responsible for setting up the nursery with appropriate play provision. Develop professional working relationships with all relevant authorities. Take responsibility for personal professional development, including participation and any necessary training. Provide cover as required at our either site on an as and when required basis. To undertake any reasonable request or duties as directed from the owners.
