Nursery Assistant – Join a Fun, Supportive & Professional Team in Barnet!

Location: Borough of Barnet (Near Totteridge & Whetstone and Oakleigh Park stations)

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: £12.50–£14.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Working Hours: 8:00am–5:00pm or 9:00am–6:00pm (Monday to Friday)

About the Nursery

We’re looking for a qualified, experienced, and passionate Nursery Assistant to join our vibrant and welcoming nursery team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Located in the heart of Barnet, our nursery is set in a spacious, purpose-designed building filled with natural light, engaging play areas, and a warm atmosphere where both children and staff feel inspired. The setting is well connected by local bus routes and just a short walk from Totteridge & Whetstone and Oakleigh Park stations.

Your Responsibilities

As a Nursery Assistant, you’ll be a key part of a caring and committed team that’s passionate about providing outstanding early years education. Your daily role will include:

*

Creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children aged 0–5

*

Engaging children through fun and educational play-based activities

*

Supporting daily routines, including meals, hygiene, and nap times

*

Working collaboratively with colleagues to plan, prepare, and deliver age-appropriate learning

*

Observing and recording children’s progress and behaviours

*

Communicating clearly with parents and guardians about their child’s development

*

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of attendance and incidents

About You

We’re looking for someone who is not only qualified but truly passionate about supporting children’s early development. You’ll need:

*

Level 2 or higher qualification in Childcare

*

Fluent spoken and written English

*

A clear Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)

*

The right to work in the UK

*

Knowledge of EYFS principles and early childhood education practices

*

Previous experience in a nursery or childcare setting (preferred)

*
