Qualified Music Teacher – Secondary School

Location: Hackney, London

Start Date: ASAP

Full-Time | Permanent

A vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Hackney is seeking to appoint a passionate and qualified Music Teacher to join its creative and high-performing Arts department.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled practitioner who can inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 for a suitably experienced candidate.

The Role

Deliver engaging and high-quality Music lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable).

Teach a broad and balanced curriculum including performance, composition and music theory.

Prepare students effectively for GCSE Music examinations.

Lead or contribute to extracurricular activities such as choir, band, orchestra or school productions.

Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.

Work collaboratively within the Arts faculty to promote creativity across the school.

The Ideal Candidate

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

A degree in Music or a related subject.

Experience teaching Music at secondary level.

Strong subject knowledge across a range of musical genres and disciplines.

Ability to inspire students of all abilities and backgrounds.

Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.
