Contract: Full–time, Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Mon–Fri)

Salary: 40,000 – 45,000 per year

Overview

We are seeking a Curriculum Team Leader to oversee the day–to–day running of the Motor Vehicle teaching department. This role combines departmental leadership with delivery of up to 24 hours teaching per week, with remission time for management responsibilities.

The postholder will lead curriculum delivery, support staff development, ensure apprenticeship progression, and manage End Point Assessment (EPA) preparation and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily operations of the Motor Vehicle teaching departmentDeliver up to 24 hours teaching per weekMonitor learner progress, attendance, retention and achievementEnsure timely gateway progression and EPA readinessManage EPA planning, workshop preparation and assessment processesEnsure schemes of work, lesson plans and course files are in placeMaintain and update IQA plans and processes weeklyEnsure compliance with awarding bodies and inspection requirementsProvide monthly learner and staff development reports to senior leadershipSupport employer engagement and provide capacity information for planningLead staff recruitment, development, training and performance managementHold weekly team meetings and regular 1–to–1 reviewsProvide cover teaching where requiredQuality & Performance Targets

Achieve KPIs for achievement, pass rates, retention and attendanceEnsure observations/learning walks meet good or above standardMaintain awarding body compliance and direct claims statusDrive continuous improvement across all programmesEssential Requirements

Proven management and team leadership experienceLevel 3 qualification in a relevant trade/subject areaStrong knowledge of apprenticeship delivery and learner progressionAbility to track performance data and report effectivelyIT skills (Microsoft packages and learner tracking systems)Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent)Strong communication and organisational skillsAbility to work under pressure and manage prioritiesCommitment to CPD and continuous improvementWillingness to travel between centresImportant Notice
