This specialist primary and secondary school in Esher is looking for compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Teaching Assistant's to join the team. The school supports children and young people aged 7–17 (Years 3–12) who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and/or Autism Spectrum conditions. These pupils may have experienced disrupted education, school refusal, anxiety or exclusion, find mainstream setting overwhelming, need small groups, high adult consistency and trusted relationships to succeed.

Job role and responsibilities for a Mental Health Teaching Assistant:

Assist the class teacher with the learning experienceProvide dedicated support to pupils with learning, physical, sensory, or behavioural challengesAbility to build trusted and effective relationships with the pupilsWilling to do 1:1 and small group support and work with pupilsFollow the safeguarding guidelines and implement them in the classroomHave good communication and interpersonal skillsBe a good listener with a compassionate and caring approachNeeds to attend staff meetings and complete relevant CPDAble to commute to Esher

Start date September, trial days taking place to ensure the role and school is right for you

Fantastic on–site training, support and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of all pupils

Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 15:30, PAYE, term time only

93– 105 per day
