Job Title: Memberships Executive

Location: Southend

Salary: £32,000 - £35,000

Purpose of Role

Our client is looking for a highly organised, proactive and personable Memberships Executive to join their team in Southend.

This is an important member-facing role, supporting both existing and prospective members, helping to ensure they receive an excellent experience at every touchpoint.

You will combine relationship management, customer service, administration and commercial awareness, helping members make the most of their membership while supporting the Client Relationship Manager to strengthen engagement, retention and membership growth.

The Memberships Executive will be someone who enjoys speaking to businesses, building relationships and getting things done. You will be confident following up with people, understanding what matters to them, identifying opportunities and connecting them with the right service, event, opportunity or colleague.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Member & Client Support

* Act as a first point of contact for existing and prospective members.

* Respond promptly and professionally to telephone, email and other member enquiries.

* Build positive, trusted relationships with members and prospective members.

* Proactively follow up with members to ensure they are receiving value from their membership.

* Gather member feedback and communicate insights to the wider team.

* Support member retention and engagement through regular communication and follow-up.

Account & CRM Administration

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date membership records.

* Assist with account administration, documentation and membership-related processes.

* Prepare reports, correspondence, meeting information and other documentation as required.

* Support the team with membership renewals, onboarding and engagement activity.

Relationship Development & Opportunities

* Identify opportunities to introduce members to relevant services, events, networking opportunities and membership benefits offered.

* Support the Client Relationship Manager with member engagement and account management activity.

* Help identify opportunities to strengthen existing relationships and increase member participation.

* Make appropriate introductions between members where there is a clear mutual benefit.

Events & Networking

* Support the delivery of events, meetings and networking activities organised by our client, some of which may take place outside working hours.

* Follow up with attendees after events to encourage continued engagement.

Teamwork & Continuous Improvement

* Work collaboratively with colleagues across their organisation to resolve member queries and deliver a joined-up service.

* Share member feedback, trends and opportunities with the wider team.

* Contribute ideas to improve the member experience and internal processes.

About You

Our client is looking for someone who is friendly, professional, commercially aware and genuinely enjoys working with people and businesses. Importantly, you will be willing to learn, develop your existing skills and take ownership of your work.

You will be comfortable picking up the phone, having conversations with business owners and decision-makers, asking questions, following things up and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.

You will ideally bring

* Experience in client relationship management, account management, customer service, membership or business support.

* Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to develop positive, long-term relationships.

* Commercial awareness and an understanding of the importance of member retention, engagement and growth.

* Confidence using Microsoft Office and standard business software. Experience using CRM, membership management or database systems is desirable.

Success in This Role Will Include

* Prompt and effective follow-up on member enquiries and opportunities.

* Identifying and progressing appropriate membership, engagement and commercial opportunities.

* Positive feedback from members and colleagues.

* Supporting the Client Relationship Manager in achieving membership retention and growth objectives.

Essential Criteria

* Tech-savvy and confident with systems, with strong IT and administrative skills and the ability to learn new platforms quickly.

* Confident and comfortable attending networking events, meetings and business functions, with the ability to build relationships and represent our client professionally.

* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
