Level 3 Teaching Assistant - Key Stage 2

Tameside

£92.56 - £110 per day, depending on experience and qualifications

Full-time | September 2026 to October half-term

Are you an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant with strong Key Stage 2 knowledge and practical experience delivering Read Write Inc.?

Premier Education is recruiting a full-time Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Tameside from September 2026 until the October half-term.

The school is well placed for applicants travelling from Hyde, Stalybridge, Ashton-under-Lyne, Glossop, Stockport, East Manchester and the High Peak.

You will work within a KS2 classroom, supporting the class teacher and helping pupils engage confidently with their learning. This is a general classroom support position rather than a one-to-one role, with an important focus on delivering targeted group interventions.

The position would suit a proactive and confident Teaching Assistant who enjoys working collaboratively, can quickly build positive relationships and is comfortable leading small-group learning.

The role

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting teaching and learning across a Key Stage 2 classroom

Working alongside the class teacher to help pupils access the curriculum

Leading targeted interventions with small groups

Delivering Read Write Inc. sessions confidently and effectively

Supporting pupils with literacy, numeracy and wider classroom activities

Identifying when pupils need additional guidance or challenge

Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence and participation

Helping to maintain a positive, focused and inclusive classroom environment

Providing feedback to the class teacher on pupils' engagement and progress

Assisting with classroom preparation and resources

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

A recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

Previous experience working in a Key Stage 2 classroom

Practical experience delivering Read Write Inc.

Confidence leading interventions with small groups of pupils

A good understanding of the primary curriculum

Strong communication and teamwork skills

A positive, patient and proactive approach

The ability to build effective relationships with pupils and colleagues

An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to obtain one

The legal right to work in the UK-we are unable to offer visa sponsorship

Why work with Premier Education?

Competitive daily pay of £92.56 - £110

A full-time, classroom-based KS2 role

The opportunity to lead meaningful group interventions

Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement

A convenient Tameside location accessible from several surrounding areas

Support from a trusted education recruitment agency established in 2001

If you are a qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant with Read Write Inc. experience and are available from September 2026, we would love to hear from you.
