About the role:

EdStaff are working with a number of SEND provisions and Mainstream schools across the Wigan and Leigh areas and are already receiving requests for dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistants/ Learning support assistants for roles from September.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a 1:1 basis or support small groups of learners to make progress through learning opportunities to suit their individual needs. This role is suitable for individuals who are passionate about inclusive education and with a nurturing and patient approach.

You will contribute to creating a positive learning environment and support both the academic and emotional development of pupils. You should be able to build strong relationships with both pupils and staff and efficiently integrate yourself into a school community.

Key responsibilities:

Create a calm and highly supportive learning environment.Meet the needs of learners in line with EHCPsWork alongside teachers and the SENDCo to provide inclusive education for all pupilsAssist with general school duties as requiredAdhere to school policies and procedures, including safeguardingPerson specification:

A genuine commitment to supporting children with SENDA patient and nurturing approachAble to adapt learning opportunities to suit a range of needsReliable and punctual with a professional attitudeEssential requirements:

At least 5 GCSE (grade C/4 or above), including Maths and EnglishLevel 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification or relevant experience in a similar settingRight to work in the UKEnhanced DBS on the update service or willing to obtain oneAble to provide references to cover the last 2 yearsWhy join EdStaff:
