Learning Support Assistant - SEN School

Location: Chelmsford, Essex

Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

Job Type: Full-time / Term-time only (option to adjust if needed)

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a supportive and nurturing Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Chelmsford. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs.

You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support, helping pupils to access the curriculum, develop independence, and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and complex needs

· Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons

· Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs

· Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies

· Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

· Support students with personal care where required (if applicable)

Requirements

· Previous experience working with children or young people (preferably within an SEN setting)

· A calm, patient, and empathetic approach

· Strong communication and teamwork skills

· A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs

· Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not essential
