Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Crookhey Hall School, Cockerham, Lancaster, LA2 0HA

Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8.30am – 4.00pm

Salary: £22,160.62 per annum (not pro rata)

Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

Start: March 2026

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be a consistent, positive presence in the classroom. You’ll help pupils build confidence, develop independence and re-engage with learning in a safe and supportive environment. This isn’t just a job — it’s a chance to change futures.

What You’ll Do

Supporting pupils in small groups to access learning and achieve their goalsWorking alongside teachers across a range of subjectsPromoting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and self-beliefPreparing engaging learning resources and maintaining inspiring classroom environmentsSupporting pupils during transitions, breaks and unstructured timesHelping to create a calm, inclusive and purposeful learning atmosphereAttending training and CPD to continually grow your skillsWhat We’re Looking For

We’re seeking caring, patient, and adaptable individuals who are passionate about helping young people reach their potential. You’ll thrive if you’re resilient, calm under pressure, and a strong communicator who enjoys working as part of a team.

Essential:

GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C / 4 or above)Basic IT skills and confidence with digital toolsHigh expectations of pupil behaviour and achievementFull UK Driving LicenceDesirable:
