Learning Support Assistant – Ormskirk

£13.75–£14.50 per hour

Full-time | Long-term role

Are you an experienced and passionate Learning Support Assistant looking for your next opportunity? A welcoming and supportive school in Ormskirk is seeking a committed LSA to join their team, providing high‑quality support to pupils across a range of needs and settings.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Supporting pupils with SEN and SEMH needs across EYFS–KS2

Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions

General classroom assistance, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment

Working closely with teachers and SENCO to support targeted learning plans

Using initiative to adapt support strategies and manage pupil engagement

Contributing to intervention work across reading, writing, maths or behaviour as required

Requirements

We welcome applications from candidates who are:

Experienced in supporting children in a school or childcare setting

Qualified (e.g. Level 2/3 TA, SEN qualifications) or have relevant equivalent experience

Confident working with a wide range of SEN/SEMH needs

Able to build positive relationships, manage behaviour and support learning effectively

Reliable, proactive and able to work as part of a supportive team

Desirable Skills & Backgrounds

Candidates with additional skills or specialist knowledge are strongly encouraged to apply. Examples include:

Psychology graduates / Education graduates

SEN or SEMH specialist support assistants

Experience in healthcare or therapeutic settings

Moving & Handling, Team Teach, First Aid, or similar relevant training

Experience delivering targeted academic or emotional‑regulation interventions
