Description

Learning Support Assistant (SEN) – (3 Days per Week)

3 days per week Term Time Only Long–term contract (12 months+ / ongoing)

Salary: 26,803 – 27,597 pro rata (term time only) + Training & Development + First Aid Training

Location: Bromley (South London)

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well–established Further Education college, where you will play a vital role in helping learners achieve their educational goals, develop independence, and access every aspect of college life.

Working closely with curriculum staff and the Learning Support team, you will provide 1:1 and small group support, remove barriers to learning, and help create an inclusive environment where every learner can thrive.

This role would suit someone with experience supporting learners with SEN or additional needs, excellent communication skills, and a caring, patient approach. Applications are welcomed from candidates with backgrounds in education, care, youth work, support work, or similar sectors.

The Role:

Provide learning and accessibility support for learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN)Support students to access learning programmes, college services and enrichment activitiesAssist with personal care, mobility and wellbeing where requiredHelp learners develop independence, study skills and self–advocacySupport the implementation and review of individual support plans and EHCP outcomesWork collaboratively with teaching staff, parents/carers and external agenciesEnsure assistive technology and specialist equipment are available and operationalAct as a College First Aider (training provided if required)The Person:

Experience supporting learners with SEN, additional needs or vulnerable individualsGood standard of general education with Level 2 English and Maths (or willingness to achieve)Strong communication and interpersonal skillsAble to build positive relationships with learners, colleagues and external stakeholdersTeam player with a proactive and flexible approachComfortable supporting learners with personal care and mobility where requiredCommitted to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusionFirst Aid qualification or willingness to obtain oneReference Number: BBBH(phone number removed)
