Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Location: Dorking, independent SEN school

Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only

Salary: £25,000 depending on experience

Start Date: September 2025 (or ASAP)

Are you passionate about supporting pupils with autism, SEMH (social, emotional, mental health) needs, or communication challenges in a specialist setting? Join a school nestled within 40+ acres of picturesque woodland, designed to deliver a therapeutic and nurturing learning environment.

We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support pupils aged 7-14 (expanding later to 16), many holding EHCPs for autism, ADHD, or co‑occurring needs. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team where teachers and therapists collaborate closely to design individualised learning pathways.

Key Responsibilities:

Support pupils across the National Curriculum and an enhanced enriched curriculum that embeds therapy into daily learning-especially in personal development, life skills, outdoor education, arts and drama.

Build trusting relationships and actively engage learners academically, socially, and emotionally.

Assist during lessons, transitions, enrichment sessions, break/lunch times, and offsite trips.

Deliver positive behaviour support aligned with individual plans and EHCP targets.

Collect evidence of pupil progress and collaborate with teachers, SENCO and therapists.

Contribute constructive feedback to help refine strategies and support plans.

Monitor wellbeing, report concerns appropriately, and support self-regulation skills.We Offer:
