Job Title: Learning Support Assistant – Developmental Language Disorder (DLD)

Location: Henlow, Central Bedfordshire

Contract Type: Full Time – Temporary Contract

Salary: £90 - £105 per day

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and skilled Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young learners by helping them access the curriculum, develop their communication skills, and build confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work closely with classroom teachers and the SENCo to deliver tailored support for pupils with DLD.

* Implement personalised learning strategies and speech and language interventions, as directed by professionals (e.g., speech and language therapists).

* Support pupils with speech, language, and communication needs both in class and through 1:1 or small group sessions.

* Assist in developing pupils’ social and emotional skills to promote independence and inclusion.

* Monitor and record student progress and contribute to assessment and review meetings.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

* Experience working with children with speech, language, and communication needs, particularly DLD (desirable).

* A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with children with additional needs.

* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

* A collaborative attitude and willingness to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
