TeacherActive is proud to be supporting a thriving Primary School in East Birmingham, who are seeking a dedicated KS2 Teaching Assistant with Pastoral Responsibilities to join their Upper Key Stage 2 team.

This is a fantastic full-time opportunity for someone who has a strong background in pastoral support, behaviour mentoring, or family support work, and is passionate about helping children succeed both academically and emotionally.

The Role:

Providing tailored support to pupils across Upper KS2 (Year 5 and/or Year 6)

Offering pastoral interventions to pupils who may require emotional, behavioural or social support

Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and pastoral team

Supporting children with additional needs including SEND and SEMH (not essential but highly desirable)

Assisting with classroom activities, small-group work and 1:1 support

Maintaining a calm, positive and resilient approach throughout the school day

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience supporting children in Upper Key Stage 2

A background in pastoral work, ideally as a Behaviour Mentor or Family Support Worker

A relevant qualification such as Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning

Confidence supporting children with a range of needs, including SEMH

A positive, nurturing attitude and excellent communication skills

Full-time availability, Monday to Friday, 8:15am – 3:45pm

A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a Criminal Convictions Check through TeacherActive
