KS1 Tutor

Early Support Makes a Lasting Difference

We're looking for a KS1 Tutor to support young learners across Dorset through personalised 1:1 tuition.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll provide tailored support to children in Key Stage 1 who may require alternative educational provision or additional help to engage with learning. Many of the pupils we support benefit from a nurturing and creative approach that helps develop confidence, strengthen core skills, and foster a positive relationship with education.

This is a rewarding opportunity for education professionals who enjoy working with younger children and helping them achieve important developmental milestones.

Location: Dorset

Key Stage: KS1

Start Date: September

Hours: Flexible

Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour

Type: 1:1 Tuition

Requirements

Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles

Experience supporting children within KS1 or primary education

Good understanding of early literacy and numeracy development

Ability to deliver engaging, age-appropriate sessions

Experience supporting children with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Patient, positive, and adaptable approach

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within Dorset

Who You'll Support

You'll work with children who may have a range of needs, including:

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

ADHD

Anxiety and school avoidance

Speech, language, and communication needs

EHCPs and additional learning needsEach child receives a personalised programme designed to support their learning, confidence, and engagement.
