IT Technician

Location: Hackney, East London

Contract: Full-Time, Fixed Term

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: July 2026

IT Technician Required – Secondary School – Hackney

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a thriving secondary school in Hackney for an experienced IT Technician to join their team immediately. This is a full-time position running until July 2026 and offers an excellent opportunity to support the school's technology infrastructure and contribute to the smooth running of IT services across the site.

The successful candidate will provide technical support to staff and students, maintain IT systems and ensure all technology resources remain operational and effective.

Key Responsibilities

Provide first and second-line IT support to teaching and support staff.

Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network issues.

Install, configure and maintain PCs, laptops, printers and other IT equipment.

Support Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365 and associated applications.

Manage user accounts, passwords and permissions.

Maintain and monitor network infrastructure and connectivity.

Support classroom technology, including interactive displays, projectors and AV equipment.

Assist with equipment deployment, inventory management and system upgrades.

Ensure IT systems comply with safeguarding, security and data protection requirements.Essential Requirements

Previous experience working within a similar IT Technician, IT Support or School ICT Support role.

Experience supporting users within an educational or similar professional environment.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.

Experience troubleshooting hardware, software and network-related issues.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.

Must hold a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the DBS Update Service.

Must be available to start immediately and commit to the role until July 2026.Desirable

Previous experience working within a secondary school setting.

Knowledge of school-based IT systems and network infrastructure.Why Apply?
