Job Title: Intervention Tutor

Location: The Greater Horseshoe School, Heathfield, TQ12 6RH

Salary: From £25,000.00 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience, not pro rata)

Hours: 40.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday

Rota: Monday–Friday 8:30am–4:40pm | Tuesday 8:30am–5:00pm (training)

Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

Start: March 2026

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Intervention Tutor to provide targeted support for students’ literacy, numeracy, and additional learning needs. This role focuses on delivering effective, tailored intervention programmes to help students achieve their full potential, supporting their academic progress and personal development. The Intervention Tutor will work closely with teaching staff, SEN teams, and other key professionals to ensure interventions are relevant, engaging, and impactful.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver one-to-one and small group intervention sessions in literacy, numeracy, and other identified areas of need

Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual student needs, including embedding interventions within broader subject lessons when required

Assess and monitor student progress, using data to inform next steps and ensure effective learning outcomes

Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of support plans, EHCP targets, and other SEN documentation

Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and other professionals to ensure a coherent and coordinated approach to intervention

Facilitate learning experiences that enable students to achieve their full potential and raise standards of attainment

Support colleagues in enhancing teaching practice, particularly in the delivery of literacy interventions

Participate in operational planning, including monitoring student progress and providing input to reports, reviews, and strategic planning initiatives

This role is ideal for a proactive, patient, and adaptable educator who is passionate about helping students overcome learning barriers and achieve meaningful progress.
