Intervention Teaching Assistant - Greenwich Primary School - September Start

Location: Greenwich - Walking distance from Greenwich Station

Start Date: September 2025

Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Role Focus: Targeted Intervention Support - Literacy & Numeracy (KS1 & KS2)

Pay: £85 - £105 per day (dependent on experience)

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Greenwich is seeking a dedicated Intervention Teaching Assistant to join their support staff team from September. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a measurable difference in children's learning by delivering small group and one-to-one interventions across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

About the Intervention Teaching Assistant Role:

As an Intervention Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to identify pupils needing additional academic support. Your primary responsibility will be delivering structured English and Maths interventions, helping to narrow attainment gaps and boost pupil confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver focused intervention sessions in reading, writing, and maths

Support small groups and individuals identified as needing catch-up or extension

Track and report pupil progress to class teachers and leadership

Adapt materials and approaches to suit individual learner needs

Foster an inclusive, positive learning environment

Requirements:

Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant or supporting primary-aged pupils

A good understanding of KS1 and KS2 curriculum

Strong literacy and numeracy skills

A proactive, patient, and encouraging attitude

Ability to build trust and rapport with pupils who need additional academic support
