Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming school community. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children's learning and helping them achieve their full potential.
Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will play a key role in creating a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment where all pupils can thrive.
Location: Burnley
Salary: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour
Contract: Full-time 8.30am – 3.30pm (Monday – Friday)
Start Date: 1st September 2026 or ASAP
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
Support teaching and learning within the classroom.
Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and boost progress.
Assist in the delivery of interventions in areas such as phonics, reading and mathematics.
Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND, ensuring they can access learning effectively.
Help prepare classroom resources and learning activities.
Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil engagement.
Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
Contribute to the safety, wellbeing and safeguarding of all children.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
A Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) is desirable but not essential.
A positive, patient and caring approach.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
A commitment to helping every child succeed.
Good organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
A sound understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
